How we act

Code of conduct

Last updated: June 2026

Everyone who acts in PRASM's name (our founder, volunteers, visitors, photographers, and partners) is expected to follow this code. It sits alongside our Safeguarding policy and exists to protect the people we serve, our supporters, and each other.

Respect and dignity

We treat every person, especially the children and families we serve, with respect, never pity. People are partners, not projects. We listen to the community and follow its lead.

We do not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, or status.

Safety and boundaries

We keep appropriate boundaries with the people we work with, and we never put a child or vulnerable person at risk. Our Safeguarding policy governs all contact with children.

We never use our position for personal, financial, or sexual benefit, and we never offer help in exchange for anything.

Honesty and integrity

We tell the truth about what PRASM is, what it is not yet, and where support goes. We never overstate our impact, our status, or our needs.

We handle money and donated goods carefully, and we keep personal and organizational funds separate.

Privacy and consent

We protect the privacy, identity, and safety of the community: we never reveal the village's location, and we never share a person's image or story beyond the consent they have given (see our Privacy and Safeguarding policies).

Conflicts of interest

We put PRASM's mission and the community's interests ahead of personal gain, and we declare anything that could look like a conflict (see our Conflict of Interest policy).

If the code is broken

Conduct that puts a child or vulnerable person at risk, or that breaches this code, ends a person's involvement with PRASM. Concerns can be raised in confidence through our Complaints & feedback process.
