Your gift, protected
Protecting your gift
Last updated: June 2026
We move support to a remote, off-grid community near a conflict-affected border, sometimes through unusual channels. We take seriously that every gift must reach what it was given for. This explains how we protect funds and guard against fraud or diversion.
Funds go where they're meant to
Donations are used for PRASM's charitable purpose: medical care and transport, education, the village's solar, water, and food systems, and the records and identity work. We don't divert funds to anything else.
We keep PRASM's funds separate from personal money, and we keep records of what comes in and how it's used.
How we move support
Most giving runs through established providers (card, PayPal, Patreon). We also accept crypto, in-kind goods, and (by prior arrangement) transfers such as Western Union, because of where and how the community lives. Whatever the channel, the same rule holds: it is recorded and accounted for.
Guarding against fraud and diversion
We verify need before sending support, prefer paying providers directly (a hospital, a supplier) over cash where we can, and confirm that goods and care reached the people they were meant for.
We don't knowingly let funds benefit armed groups or anyone under sanctions. Given the border context, we apply extra care to large or unusual gifts and to any onward transfer.
Crypto and irreversible transfers
Blockchain and wire transfers can't be reversed, so we publish addresses carefully and ask donors to double-check them. If you're ever unsure whether a request claiming to be from PRASM is genuine, contact us first, and we'll confirm before you send anything.
Accounting for your gift
If you'd like to know how a specific gift was used, just ask. We're happy to account for it. As we formalize, we'll add independent financial oversight and publish a simple yearly summary.
Honest limits
We're an emerging, founder-led initiative without an audit function yet. We'd rather tell you that plainly, and show our care in how we handle support, than imply controls we don't have.
